Pawn Stars?

I've stopped in their shop in Vegas a few times. Lots of customers but they sell mostly t-shirts and bobbleheads from the show instead of pawned stuff.

Was a great show for a while but seems to be fading. American Pickers is a better show IMO and I also like Storage Wars, even though they admittedly stage some of the pieces to make it more entertaining. Better than watching some stupid dancing or singing show that's for sure.

I like Pawn Stars and American Pickers. I watched an episode of hardcore pawn and didn't care for it.

They always start out with" how much are you looking to get?" They never throw out the first number. Basic negotiating when you have the upper hand.

It's a good show. I like it best when someone brings them something fake that they thought was real though.

I'm sure they know when they are filming and encourage people with interesting items to bring them in during this period... Seems like they are willing to buy anything if they think they can make a profit and add the promotion they gotten through the show people with unique items obviously are going to seek them out...

so all these homely looking people have these valuable 200+ year old museum quality artifacts lying around their homes and know nothing about them? lol

a poster here has already said when he went there for a visit, they were auditioning people to play the "seller" and given stuff to pawn. it sure looks that way.

i'd love to go for a visit to see if any of these items they "purchased" are actually on display there. i doubt it.

A couple of things:

Yes I like the show. Chum is the man and the old man is hilarious.

With that said, Chumlee's agent is an idiot. How Chum isn't in the opening credits is an f'ing disgrace. He's the most popular one on the show.

I never thought about them auditioning people for sellers. I always assumed they just screened the items before hand to decide if they were interesting enough for the show.

he was just on the tonight show so his agent cant be that bad.

love the old man , also the auction show where they buy storage units, couple of weeks ago a guy bought some newspapers, for 500 , they happened to be from the day elvis died , worth 6 bucks each and i think he had 10k newpapers

nice return turned 500 into 60k

Like a lot of the other posters I mostly like to watch for the random crap people try to sell. Plus, it's cool to see people getting ripped off at Pawn Shops, willingly, on national television. Its amazing to me how desperate some people are for money.

I like the show, but it is getting a bit old like juiced said. All the characters are too predictable and it seems like each episode is the same except for different items.
