Some of You Deadbeats Had To Receive This Call...
I don't know the number, but I get the call maybe 4 times a year. It basically is an Indian guy telling me he needs my attorney's phone # and that I am going to be arrested later that day. The cops will be there to pick me up from work. If I call back soon he may be able to help me. If I don't call him back, all he could do is wish me good luck.

When I first got the call about 3 years ago I was scared. Now I'm actually excited to get them. What is scary is they have the address and last 4 of the ss#. Besides that, it is a known scam. When I talk to them, usually I can't understand oneword the guy is saying so I ask if he has marbles in his mouth. If they don't disconnect, they will transfer you to someone who talks clearer. They will ask for your attorney's name. Some I say Winnie Thepoah and give them a #. Bill Cosby, Etc.

The thing that stands out is the guy wishing me good luck. I'm sure if you googled Indian caller wishing goodluck, something would appear.

Never had this happen to me. Unless this guy called and just didn't bother answering which is most likely what happened.

I like this line, Their trademark is to use meaningless legalese gobblygook phrases like "We are downloading warrants against you" or "We are filing an affidavit against you." Another trademark phrase is to threaten the consumer with something like this ridiculous phrase: "If you don't pay then only God can help you."

Here is what happens and I am pretty sure of it. At some places when you "apply" for a payday loan, your info gets mass distributed. These people must have a processor or buy it from people for pennies on the dollar. They figure at least 25% of people default and they put a scare in them. They must have an ok success rate at getting funds. Anyone with a brain, even if you owe $$$, could sniff this out.
