#3well its a 31 gallon tank. our altima is a 16 gallon and takes $50+ so its pretty much 2 tanks in one.Originally posted by Poster Xseems like right now the $100+ to fill up the tank would be a dealbreaker right away.Comment -

#5nah its around 16. and again, if i cared about gas mileage i'd get something else. however since im not concerned (hell i drive a 1982 C10 that gets 9mpg) about gas, thats a moot pointOriginally posted by paintball1084have fun getting like 10 miles a gallon

#21i bought an 04 z71 has 130,000. Have had to fix the rear u joint x2 replaced with a greaseable the 2nd time. Mine has painted bumpers that cancer very easily. repainted once already. If it has chrome bumpers its better, but 8500 is high. Has it seen alot of road salt?Comment -

no chrome bumpers and no road salt (hell we don't know what road salt is here in south carolina
)
and im bumfuzzled on why everyone is saying $8500 is too much. here is a 50 mile range of 02 burbs and $8500 seems pretty darn good

#24well im guessing you are driving around something that has a 15-16 gallon tank. so lets say you have a 15 gallon tank at $3.50 per gallon (which im sure gas isn't that cheap where you are) you are spending $53 to fill up. the burbs have a 31 gallon tank. so its double your size and thus double your price. it's all the same to us. and again, if i was worried about the price of gas, i'd get a priusOriginally posted by robzillawhy in the world would anyone ever buy a vehicle that costs 100.00 per fill up?Comment -

#25I haven't owned the Suburban, but I believe the Denali and Silverado I owned both had the same 5.7 engine in them. Great engine, but with that many miles, check to see if there are signs of leakage around the valve covers. Find out if the fuel pump has been changed. If it hasn't, you will need to soon and it isn't cheap to get done. Get the compression checked before you buy it. If everything looks good, I would have no problem buying it. That engine will go well over 200k if maintained.Comment -

#26yeah i got the guy at the mom and pop dealership to get in touch with his friend whom he bought it from to get any and all paper work on it. my mechanic just called after giving it the once over and said besides the typical stuff like brakes have about 5-7,000 miles left on the rear and 10-12,000 on the front. nothing major. he said it looks like it was very well maintained without of course tearing into the engine/trannyOriginally posted by HousemoneyI haven't owned the Suburban, but I believe the Denali and Silverado I owned both had the same 5.7 engine in them.
