I know your wife is awesome, and you love each other very much, but on the remote chance things were to change......where would that leave you? This isn't a popular opinion....especially probably for your wife.......but its something that needs to be discussed. Ideally, this would be drawn up in a legal document. Again, absolutely no ill will meant here in anyway. Just trying to be a realist.

WV, Keep your job bro......It sounds so good to stay home but its not what its cracked up to be. I was in the middle of jobs for about 6 months so i was home all day...And its great for the first month or 2 but after that, you will miss having a job and interacting with people of your age.
I know you said you'd be with your kids(and i have none) but they will drive you insane like others have said. You also should really be thankful right now to have a good paying job. People would kill to have a steady paying job and not have to worry about money like you and your wife.
I personally would look into another option to try and save some money with the day care. I know you said you didnt want to have them anywhere else, but im sure there are other great places around.....and $1500 sounds like WAYYYYY to much to be paying for day care.Comment -
Long way to go for a pension. Plus its no sure thing to be there once you arrive at that train station. As I see it that is a minor factor in this process. Still if you leave that job kiss it good bye. Odds are you won't get it back. So your attitude towards your job is important. If you hate it get out. If you see yourself there LONG term stay put. Its quality of life and financial decision making that needs addressing. Its your call.
Personally I would keep my job and look into less expensive child care. That extra educational stuff is an up sell imho. The only thing I remember about my 4 year old child care was some bitch yelling at me to be quiet and take a nap because I was preventing the others from resting. I got straight A's in first grade and then skipped second grade. My parents and grandmother taught me more than any child care center.Comment -
