I sold my car 8 years ago with no title and gave it to the guy maybe a month later. He could still drive as long as his insurance was OK

How is a double wide worth "more than 1,000"? Is it worth 30 or 40 thousand thereby being "more than 1,000"? That's what it'd be worth if it needed some work. Double wides around here sell for 50k easy in good condition. I know someone who rehabbed one a couple years ago (after the crash for sure) and sold it for 70K.

Also, if you click the link you find out this kid stole THOUSANDS of dollars worth of stuff from his parents, including their boat. The $100 for the home must have been punishment for them and he just wanted to irritate them. The "absurd white trash" factor of the article is therefore a fabrication by the writer.
