I like the contrarian pick of Pittsburgh tonight.
2 reasons.....
#1 - public is all over Detroit so far and yet the line is moving to attract even more Tigers play.
#2 - I have had a lot of success this season fading road favorites who have lost 3+ in a row. Tigers have lost last 3 and yet are favored. Also, Pirates are fresh off a 2-game sweep in Cincinnati.

I'm leaning the other way. I haven't watched much of the games in this series but I haven't seen many highlights from SJ. I agree it's do or die for SJ, that will probably keep me from betting VAN. But I don't think they match up well with VAN. I read DG's thread in the hockey handicapping forum. He is a big canuck fan. I think he knows hockey and his canuck team. Here are a few trends that support my leans:

VANCOUVER: 11-2 SU Away after a win by 3+ goals
SAN JOSE: 15-4 OVER after a loss by 2+ goals

He has the following, and I'm pretty sure I will tail the first three:

VAN/SJ Over 5.5 (+115)

The mets are mostly a value play. That's why only .5x. They could also pull it out. Its a subway series for the king of N.Y. you never know.
