Should i ditch my laptop for an iPad

I'm not a tech junkie, but I believe you need an hdmi input to hook it up to your tv, but ipad doesn't have it (though some other tablets do). I prefer android os so I'm getting a Xoom soon and giving the wife the ipad. ipad sounds like a feminine product anyway.

ipad 2 does allow hdmi out with an adapter from apple...but dont replace your laptop for it.

Got the Xoom today, and boys, listen up, do not, I repeat, DO NOT , buy an ipad. Xoom blows that shit outta fukkin water and it's not even close. The browsing experience is so much faster and smoother. Tabbed browsing for chrissakes! And my books open soooooo much faster (on the same wifi) it's not even remotely close. There is just so much more you can do with Xoom. It's gonna take me a long time to figure everything out, but this is so much more powerful than the giant ipod touch. I urge you, at least check this out before you run out and buy an ipad. Trust me on this one guys. You'll thank me later. Give the pad to your girlfriend and get this one for yourself.

don't think the battery can last long , not even enough to watch a movie .

SBR renders perfectly on the Xoom. Not so much on the Ipad. It's unbelievable how superior this devise is. The browsing experience is much more similar to a computer. You can actually create bookmark folders and tabbed browsing. And I have both devices here on the same wifi and the xoom is significantly faster. I just can't overstate how superior the Xoom is. Don't be lemming with the ipad.

I would say go for it if you love apple products. You can buy a laptop type design for it, where you can connect it to a full keyboard and make it look like a laptop if you are worried about that.
For me, I will stick with a laptop, I just couldn't get used to the apple design.
If you are looking for a touch screen device, that is small and portable, I would go with the Hp touch smart laptop, i had one and it runs great. Unfortunally i dropped it one too many times and it broke, but i had a square trade warrenty so i cashed it out ...
I then bought a Toshiba laptop, and its the best laptop i ever bought, best speaker system,fast, processor.
Anyways, I would say Yes, if you love apple design.
