I think you have to figure age into this. This is a tough call with me being 37.

For me it would depend a lot on prison conditions. There are some conditions I could imagine where I would take the 10 years and the cash. But if it is just about being tossed into gen pop of a regular penitentiary for 10 years, I'll pass.

freedom, anyone who is willing to sell their freedom for money doesn't deserve to have any imo.

I thought about that part too but even if I was in a 12-14 room with a big screen, comfy bed, nice sofa, satellite tv, PS3 and so on. I still couldn't do it. In ten years I would miss the birthdays of my kids, wife, my parents, brothers and sisters, In laws, grand parents and so on. I would miss all the good little things that happen in their life and wouldn't be there to help them in any of the little bad issues that come up. 100 million dollars is a large sum of money and could be really fun spending it but not even 100 times that amount could replace 10 years of time lost with my family.

Nope. I couldn't do it. For a weekend, let me grab my soap on a rope and I'm ready to go. 10 years? I wouldn't do it for any amount.

I think you mean 150 when you get out but it would only be 100 Million if that was the deal. My guess is you would get the money IF you did the 10 years. So you wouldn't be paid till then so no interest would be earned at all.

I'd take the money. I can have live a whole lot better life being 32 with 100 million then being 22 with 25 grand in student loans.

10 million for one year would be more doable. 10 million is enough for me, don't need 100 million.

How sad should be the life of everyone that choose money. If you live a fair live, with a family and enough income to cover the living expenses at above-poverty level... you would be crazy to send 10 years of your life down the drain in exchange for a big check. Even if you go out of jail in good condition, the money is not a guarantee of happiness. Just check the life of many lottery winners, badly screwed up with so much money.
