Didn't work. I bought an Acer 3700 mini PC and it has no freakin CD drive. Put together the USB with XP and it won't install.

                Seller Said:

If you want to reinstall your own Windows OS, you have to connect the external USB CD/DVD rom to reinstall Windows OS.
You need to press the "Delete" button while rebooting your PC to enter the BIOS mode, and then you can set the booting priority to "external USB CD/DVD rom".
After restart the PC, it will start to install your OS automatically.
This item only can support Windows 7 OS,you can download the driver from Acer website.

If you have a spare machine laying around that actually has a cd/dvd-rom, take the hard drive out of the new one and put it in the old one to reinstall. Or, swap out the cd/dvd-rom from the old machine and put it in the new one (if possible).

yes you can do it, except in that post where it says press delete during startup you have to figure out what it is for your computer, every BIOS is different. For my computer at home it is f12, but f8 and f2 are also common. Try pressing one of those during startup if it doesnt say what the button is already. then it will give you a list of options to boot into. select USB/CD should be there

alternatively if you press delete during setup you will enter the BIOS, here you can change the boot order and just put USB over Harddrive and it will look at the USB first before the Hard Drive for an OS
