Why are we sending them any $? Last time I checked we were in a shitload of debt. Got a ton of homeless and unemployed people over in our country yet we are sending cash to Japan. I'm not trying to be a total dick, but clean up your own backyard before stepping into someone else's.

If the prices of Japanese electronics go up now I hope Godzilla rises from the Power Plant and does his thing over there.

The Japanese people are much more efficient at just about everything, including receiving aid, than Haitians are. This will be proven when, several years from now, Japan is completely rebuilt while Haiti still lies in ruins.

Why did people in Louisiana shoot at the helicopters that were trying to help them??? Why did they rob and loot??

There was help there immediately, just because you believe what you see on CNN or maybe they didn't come straight to you right away doesn't mean help wasn't being provided. I can tell you that I was personally involved in sending help in both events the same day it happened.

Japan does not need and has not asked for $ from any other government.
It has asked for Search and Rescue teams and some equipment.

Charities will try to raise money, of course but that is a different thing entirely.

It is on local government to ask for federal help, and the governor of Louisiana refused to do that. Also correct. The governor controls the National Guard assets when they are not mobilized...So why is the blame on Bush and not on the Governor of Louisiana? Why are some making this a racial thing when the governor of Louisiana (who had control of the aid) was black?
