#2What do you get a 1 year old? Obvious thing would be something from toys"R"us. But if he's a really good friend, something great would be to start a college fund for the kid or something like that.Comment -

#10I agree with the first guy.
If it's a good friend, then buy the kid some kind of bond that he will find out about in a long time, or start a college fund or something.Comment -

#11start him in the right direction and buy him lottery tickets. my aunt did this for me as a kid and launched me into a wonderful life of degenerate gambling and poor financial skills. good times...Comment -

#14Back in the day a " bond" was good but today a 20 year bond will make about 2 bucks.
Give the parents a gift card to babies R us or something like that.Or ,find out the kids huggy size, make sure he is not getting ready to change sizes and buy him 25.00 worth of huggies( or whatever fits your budget).
Kids are so expensive , your friend will really appreciate it.Comment -

#16Just buy them a gift card from Toysrus. I have a 1 year old and trust me, the little guy is too young to appreciate anything you are giving him now. The parents on the other hand will have good use for that gift card in the near future.Comment -

#23really depends on how much you want to spend. If you are going to spend $$$, the college fund is the way to go. You can get him a Thomas the Train set w/table that can go up to about a G. Or a motorized car to drive in for a couple hundred. Anything less then that, just get him a gift card at Toys R Us, the parents will get him what he wants/needs. Don't forget the gift receipt :P.Comment -
