I don't care if this girl is in MENSA, cooks like Julia Child and is armed to the teeth like the girl in "Kick Ass". A girl at 8 should not be left alone in ANY circumstance. It's also illegal.

When I was 8 years old I was left home to baby sit my younger brothers so my dad can go to the track. We smoked some of his cigarettes and drunk some of his scotch but other than that we had a great time!

what if the kid has a black belt in karate and he's a big 8 yr old like 5'7 and weighs 162 lbs and is very very mature for his age?? do you change your mind now?? do you allow him to stay home alone? who will touch him.. if an intruder walks in the house, the kid would drop him in 2.2 secs. btw, i know a kid that is 8 and fits this exact description.
