Elevated, you gave the examples of how there are posters who contribute and drive traffic that our not PROs. But if the people who are driving traffic dont use the sponsors and are getting new members who dont use the sponsors, then why the heck would the sponsors pay to advertise to a bunch of people who dont use their services? How else does SBR sell advertising unless they can show people actually use the product/service? The compensation they may or may not receive as a "referral" from books when people go PRO is peanuts to the advertising dollar.

This is a great question.. when it comes to eCommerce having ads are tricky.. most of the time it works like a billboard on the side of the interestate.... for example.. SBR is the landlord/owner of the BLANK billboard on the side of the interstate.. they charge a fee for any company that wants to post an advertisement on there.. It's just as simple as that. You don't have to click on it, you don't have to call, heck you don't even have to go to the place or buy anything.. but SBR still makes money from the company leasing that "billboard" until that companies lease is up... this is just one of the examples on how ads work.. but there are lots of different types of requirements depending on the contracts between companies.

I'm up 70 units this season, all posted plays. All my money is in betfair, which SBR doesn't use for pro.

Am I still broke? 100% of SBR pros don't have a long term record, or don't have a record that is making a descent profit, so don't even start.

FYI I just wan't to clarify that I do not think I am better than someone because I'm an sbr pro and they aren't. My point is that those who don't fill out the become an sbr pro application are not helping at all. Sbr provides it's members with many benefits free of charge. All that is required is for members to provide proof that they are players at sbr approved sponsor books. Those that collect points, enter contests etc. but refrain from becoming an sbr pro are taking away from those of us who do play at sbr books. No more free lunch!

This is not a pay to use site. The $200 you deposit to become Pro is yours to bet with. It is free to use SBR like any other forum, and it's free to become PRO as long as you fund your account with at least $200.

Despite the protests and various reasons given by non pros for not taking part, by far the most likely reasons are multi accounters who lack the valid personal information to properly withdraw from an offshore account.
