i bowl an avarage of 170. my highest is 245. and i bowl once a week. i guess i suck! lolz. i'm a straight bowler, but recently i've been trying the hook shot. its either a strike or miss completely.

Same here, but I am very consistant in league play. I might shoot 1-2 200's a year.

i usually throw 125-140....one night i threw a 208 during cosmic bowling and all the little broads around thought i was a hero

The seven pin you are leaving, is it a 'weak seven'?
By weak seven I mean is the four pin laying in front of the seven, or left in the gutter?
If so, move half board in with your feet on the approach, that should get the ball higher in the pocket.
If you leave too many 'wrap around' sevens (wrap around meaning the four pin goes up and over the seven) it's just a bad break and got hosed.

Nothing worse than throwing a 'bomb' and leaving a solid nine pin though.

Happy to break 100 when I go bowling, but I averaged like a 270 in Wii bowling when I was playing regularly!

Yeah, you need the right ball to fit your fingers, very important, but more than that.

Release is vital in throwing a hook,keep the wrist under the ball, thumb must come out first, the two middle fingers then must rotate around the ball.

I average 190, high of 256.

But I bowl two handed.. it's just comfortable to me. I've noticed I have a higher speed and extremely higher rev into the pocket more than the conventional grip. I also found another two handed bowler that's very similar in style .. use this as an example.

Last time I bowled league, I averaged 209 for the entire season......Bowled 299 twice.....Used to bowl ABT every week for money........Haven't touched a bowling ball since 1993.....Got burnt out on the game and took up golf instead.

that's because most people are right handed and using the right side of the lane, pushing more oil down the lane so all the right handers have to adjust their throw in the 2nd and 3rd game. the left handed person might be the only one on that lane using the left side. he can probably throw the same ball all three games.

i only bowl in one league (take the summer off). i think i'm around a 198 average now. i bowled a 268 early in the year. and i had a 698 series a couple months ago (never hit a 700). i'm using a Storm Diablo. My only other ball is a spare ball for 10 pin spares. I don't have another ball to switch to if the lanes are too dry/oily, i just adjust how i throw (and usually struggle).
