I must say, these boards aren't all negative. Two ways this board has helped me in real life:
1. Taught me more about statistics, +EV etc... I use it in general lingo to make myself sound smart, and people actually believe I'm an investor or day trader when I lie that I am. All thanks to the lingo... and I'm not even that learned in stat models or anything either.
2. My social value has actually increased since I started saying 'unreal' or variants thereof. I swear, I can use it to gently neg women, they get the neg + giggle a bit. and within my friend circles, since I started using it, it's begun to spread, but still, no one can do it as good as me.
