As for the "during the commission of a crime" varietal of involuntary manslaughter that is for deaths occurring simultaneously with the criminal act.

I am sort of on the same page. This is a really fukked up thing to do to someone, but this kid obviously had some issues in the first place. Even something as drastic as this wouldn't cause the majority of people to commit suicide. Sometimes in college you think crap like this is the end of the world. This kid was probably living a lie and couldn't bare the thought of his family, friends etc #1 finding out he was gay and #2 seeing him in the act. I'm sure he was also thinking that he could never get a job, basically he concluded his life was over.
I've heard a few different possible charges for these 2 students, but even regardless of the result (suicide) in my opinion this has to be 5-10 years.
Those 2 students will be forever stained with the blood of this kid on them and they will take it to their grave.

Just a passing thought here. When did we repeal the Constitution? You know...that piece of paper that says anyone and everyone accused of any crime is to be considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law and by a jury of their peers? I am fairly certain that forums do not equal jury.
Which is why Rutgers has not expelled them. If a "Not Guilty" verdict comes back, then the school could be sued. And as for why the bail was different...from the story, it alleges that the guy did all the stuff and just used her room as a base. Her involvment allegedly isn't as great.Comment
