Who has had a really "Philly"? Geno's gets a lot of attention but personally I prefer Pat's. I gotta make a stop and get one next time I'm in the area.

A city famous for a shittly slab of meat with cheese on a hoagie.........and they think it's gods gift to the world.
They need to go to the midwest and have a real sandwich!!

I'm a big fan of that spot across from the stadium on broad street next to the gas station right before the 95 exit

Jim's in West Philadelphia but you can't go there at night
Dalessandro's and Chubbys in Roxborough
Tony Lukes is overrated but worth the stop for a Pork Italiano
There is a bunch on Broad street mostly overated

I go to Pat/Geno/Wit or Witout about once a week.
Of the big two Geno's is a more complete, solid sandwich while Pat's has a better meat but the roll and cheese don't complete it. Geno's also cuts their onions thicker and I am a huge fan of that. The owner of Pat's Mr. Oliveri goes to school with me and hes treated me to quite a few Pat's steaks but I gotta lean Geno's here.
Wit Or Witout is in northeast philly and a must try because they offer a badass sandwich and if you go before 7pm its 7 bucks for a drink, steak, fries.

Tony Lukes. Known for their cutlets and pork-italians. Not as much for steaks.

Pats is good Mikail...next time you're in town check out Jim's Steaks on South Street, that's another one of my favorites.

Beat me to it. The best in town. Pat's and Geno's are the tourist traps.

Yeah but there are still a lot of tourists that go to Jim's because South Street is a touristy area.

Agreed. I meant the names. Everyone always talks about Pat's and Gino's being the best, when in reality there are many places as good, if not better.

50th and Thompson-about 2 blocks off of Lancaster Ave about 1/2 mile from Wilt's high school
It's a 4 block enclave of Italians surround by "VERY URBAN" neighborhoods in West Philadelphia so don't go past 8 pm

Thank you for the heads up brother.
I never go past 45th, its chaos once you get outside of the UPenn area. I work on 40th and Market sometimes til' late at night and even around there gets really sketchy.

You can't go wrong with either Pat's or Geno's, but I prefer Pat's, Whiz Without...
I'm not a big onion fan but I might try it with onions next time...

You gotta get the hot peppers they have on the side as well. You might as well go get both since it's across the street from each other.

Pats is better than geno's in my opinion. Jim's on south street is good if your down there. If you in the northeast you gotta go to steve's prince of steaks. The cheesesteak is the best sandwich in the world despite the opinion that the best is in the midwest.

Anyone out in SoCal looking for a decent Philly cheesesteak check this place out. I go there all the time. Not bad! Called Philly's Best.
If you want a real Philly Cheesesteak-----head to North Philly----places like Chubbies and Dalessandros in Roxborough are much better.
WIP the sportsradio station in Philly had a contest last year or the year before------the 10 best cheesesteaks in Philly----Pat's or Geno's didn't finish in the top 10.
