(The Police) My top 25 Favorite songs

Outlandos d'Amour and Regatta de Blanc by far their best albums and I think I see only 1 song from either on Chuckys list.

Where's Roxanne? Cant stand losing You? Beds Too Big??

This list hurts my heart a little :\

Opti, by my count I have: 3 from Outlandos and 4 from Regatta.
...I definitely see the broad appeal of The Police across all their albums.

Those two are up there. Bed's Too Big didn't make the cut.

I could easily list fifteen more Police songs. "Murder by Numbers" is another good one.

Oh. Not sure how i missed them.

I do think i could come up with almost a different top 25 to yours still! But I love there early reggae/pop fun songs more than later political/deep stuff.

They do have more great songs than most bands of all genres.



If you like police you might some Aussie bands from the period you probably haven't heard of.

Re: Ghost in the Machine, Stewart talked about how challenging the drum-beat was on Spirits in the Material World. I really think they were going for a more experimental sound on GHOST.

Shea, I gave my opinion that Stewart really might be the best drummer ever. At a minimum, he took drumming to a high art-form level.

Stewart's drumming and Sting's vocals made for such an interesting mix. And this led to some of the in-fighting. Sting came to have a big ego, and he thought that Stewart's drumming was often too heavy.

The media liked to describe it as a feud, with (an older) Andy operating as the mediator. The band members later diffused that and talked how it was no different than the creative differences in other bands.

The fans surely wanted that sixth album. Sting had a strange view that they had conquered and that that was it. Stewart was more pragmatic and thought you keep going. I've come to view their discography as close to perfect. A sixth album would likely have been a disappointment.
