Some are destined to be tennis pros, others first responders, and then there's Wink; his destiny was to be a quiz master.
Even Wink said in an interview that he wanted to be a radio announcer; he said that was his destiny, and from radio, he became a Hall of Fame Quiz Master.

We just lost Chuck Wollery, now Wink, the all-time greats are dropping like flies.

To your point, Blanco, yes, he sincerely loved to host game shows, and made some nice coin doing so.
        RIP.
