Up to $140K bonuses for new recruits. I think something is up. Like going to war with China over Taiwan. Also problems in Guam and the Mariana Islands. People protesting against huge inflation. They don't export anything and everything is imported. Doesn't take a rocket scientist to understand that sooner or later the system breaks.

Speaking from personal experience....

Your "enlistment bonus" is a big fat $0. Only 3 ratings (the ones in the nuclear field) get the maximum. You have to hit certain milestones - and sometimes agree to extend your enlistment - to get the promised bonus. Also they include the GI Bill as part of the "bonus," which is a whole 'nother layer of headaches.

So don't sit back and expect anyone is going to just drop a check for $140k on you.

Nothing is up Gooser. You're not going to get that money unless you do 6 years. It's not a lot of money when you spread it out. I think they've been offering this for quite some time now. Nukes can do much better leaving the Navy. The Navy can't retain them. Plus, there's no amount of money that's worth 3 section duty or shipyard shift work.
