Donald Trump could face prison time if he is convicted
NOTE this is the 1st criminal trial of an ex pres in US HISTORY

If former President Donald Trump is convicted on all counts in his New York criminal hush money trial that begins April 15, he could theoretically face more than a decade in prison.

Trump faces 34 felony counts of falsifying business records to cover up a hush money payment to adult film actress Stormy Daniels. Each count carries a maximum sentence of four years.

Trump's sentence would be decided by Judge Juan Merchan, who has grown exasperated by the former president's pretrial behavior. Merchan expanded a gag order this month after Trump attacked the judge's daughter on social media over her marketing work with Democratic candidates, including posting a photo of her. Merchan said Trump has a history of attacking the family members of judges and lawyers in his legal cases.

    What is Trump charged with?

Trump has pleaded not guilty to all counts in the case, which focuses on whether he falsified business records to cover up reimbursements to his former lawyer, Michael Cohen, for a $130,000 hush money payment to Daniels. Daniels has said she had a sexual encounter with Trump soon after Melania Trump gave birth to their son, Barron Trump. Trump denies the claim.

What is the maximum possible sentence?

The 34 felony counts Trump faces are classified as "Class E felonies" under New York law – the lowest level felony in the state. The maximum penalty on each count is four years of prison, and a judge would have discretion over whether to order Trump to serve sentences on each count at the same time or one after the other. However, New York caps such sentencing for Class E felonies at 20 years. so if servring 20 years he would be 97 if he stays alive

Trump didn’t look well in court today. Huge puffy bags under his eyes. Didn’t get much sleep over the weekend.

Billionaire playboys shouldn't sleep much...when has Trump ever slept?

now this a loan that never existed

A watchdog group is asking the Justice Department to investigate whether Donald Trump repeatedly lied in sworn statements to the federal government—including his own administration—about a $50 million loan that apparently never existed in the first place, and which could be evidence of tax evasion.

Trump has filed nine of those annual statements with the Federal Election Commission and the Office of Government Ethics over the years, personally swearing to their accuracy, which could expose him to criminal liability if the claims are found to have been intentionally false.

The complaint comes after The Daily Beast first reported in January that the court-appointed special monitor in Trump’s New York business fraud case had buried a bombshell claim in a footnote to a status report: A mysterious $50 million loan, which Trump reported owing to one of his own LLCs, “never existed.”

Weeks later, Engoron found Trump and his company guilty of engaging in years-long, systematic business fraud, misrepresenting their assets in order to gain favorable terms from lenders. He fined Trump and other Trump Org officials $364 million for bank fraud, and has since bestowed “enhanced” powers on Jones as Trump’s financial babysitter, extending her role both in scope and duration.

“Yes, the loan existed,” Garten told The Daily Beast in January, claiming the debt was “an internal loan” where Trump “lent money to the entity that he owns.”
But again, as the CREW complaint notes, all of Trump’s financial disclosures—including his most recent amended version, approved by the Office of Government Ethics last October—clearly state that it was the other way around: It was Trump who owed the money to his LLC.

Still, that’s not the only oddity about this loan.
“There are several other factors that would indicate that the Chicago Loan never constituted a bona fide debt obligation,” the CREW complaint reads.
