The majority of Americans disapprove of Trump's policies; Trump continues to ignore the concerns of the people and forces his policies on them; nevertheless, it is fascism.
Bonus question.
Where does the word fascism come from?👍 1Comment -

#26293I don't agree that the majority of people disapprove of Trump's policies. The liberal media might tell you this, but they tell you a lot of bullshit. Remember the old Mark Twain quote ...Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it is time to reform (or pause and reflect). That applies quite often in life. Also, Hareeballs liked your post calling Trump a fascist, so that should immediately cause you (or anyone else) to pause and reflect. He's been wrong on just about everything for years on SBR.Originally posted by stevenashFascism.

I have been called a fascist. Do you think I am a fascist?
Trump isn't fascist and neither is his administration. That's just silly. He is simply doing things different and within the laws and the constitution. Securing the border isn't fascism. Neither is making better trade deals for his country or lowering taxes. Neither is making several peace deals. Neither is blowing up narco terrorists. We can go on and on with several examples which further proves your definition of fascism isn't applicable.
The word fascism gets used so often that it loses much of its meaning. Just simply disagreeing with a liberal makes you a fascist nowadays. We all see it all the time. Same goes for Hitler, racist, Russian agent and even a king. The people that keep using these words have no idea what they are saying and have little to no credibility.
Don't forget that many of these people looked you straight in the face and said there was an insurrection on J6, when there wasn't, and that Trump incited violence when he said to "peacefully march to the Capitol and let your voices be heard. Peacefully means violence to the radicals. These are the same people who think men can get pregnant, think its ok for men to compete against women in competitive sports, use pronouns like he/him/they them and made videos of themselves celebrating the murder of Charlie Kirk. They call Kirk a racist and a fascist as well. These people are morons.
They said they saw evidence of Russian collusion with their own eyes, but that was just another blatant lie. Yet, for some strange reason, people believe these lies. Why? I suspect they are either too dumb or are just unwilling to admit they have been duped into believing the shit they they believe for so long, they are unable and/or unwilling to admit it. Probably a combination. A king wouldn't let people march and protest on "No Kings Day".
I saw this online and I think this is more accurate than your accusation ...
Labeling Trump a fascist is inaccurate, hyperbolic, or politically motivated, arguing he aligns more with authoritarian populism, hypercapitalism, or nativism without fully embodying fascism's totalitarian or revolutionary elements. Key points include:- Trump lacks the structured ideology or state-controlled economy of classical fascism; instead, he's seen as a "hypercapitalist" who seeks to dismantle democratic constraints on big capital, differing from fascist embrace of state intervention.
- Critics note that fascism historically involved eliminating multi-party systems and opposition, which hasn't occurred under Trump—checks and balances like Congress and the judiciary remain, and dissent is still possible without severe repercussions.
- Some historians, like Isabel Hull, have argued Trump is more of a "nativist-populist" than a principled fascist, and accusations often stem from rhetorical excess common in U.S. politics (e.g., Harry Truman calling his opponent a fascist in 1948).
- Detractors of the label say it obscures real issues like his hubris or policy flaws, and that equating him to Hitler dilutes the term's meaning, turning it into a mere insult rather than a precise analysis.
- In public discourse, such as on platforms like Reddit, opinions are polarized: some view him as fascistic due to nationalism and racism, while others dismiss it as overblown or ignorant of fascism's requirements.
- Ultimately, the answer depends on one's definition of fascism and interpretation of Trump's behavior. Strict historians may reserve the term for interwar European regimes, while broader applications highlight perceived parallels in authoritarianism and threats to pluralism. As of late 2025, with Trump in his second term, the debate continues without resolution, often reflecting partisan divides more than objective fact.

#26294I have to re-post this as another Lefty tried to push that narrative only last week.Originally posted by Hareeba!
One of the most difficult things for human beings to do is remove themselves from an anchored position.
2024 was a challenging year for many U.S. brands, with commercial bankruptcy filings rising significantly—up around 33-40% in various periods compared to 2023, driven by high interest rates, persistent inflation, reduced consumer spending on discretionary items, shifting shopping habits (e.g., more online), rising labor costs, and post-pandemic adjustments. Retail and casual dining sectors were hit particularly hard, leading to thousands of store closures and job losses. While hundreds of companies filed (including over 180 Chapter 11 cases documented), here are some of the most notable U.S. brands—both large and smaller—that filed for bankruptcy in 2024:Retail & Consumer Goods- Big Lots — Discount retailer; filed in September, ultimately leading to closure of nearly all remaining stores after a sale deal collapsed.
- Express (including Bonobos and UpWest) — Apparel chain; filed in April, closed ~100 stores, and sold assets.
- Joann — Fabric and crafts retailer; filed in March, restructured and emerged with fewer stores.
- Rue21 — Teen fashion retailer; filed in May, closed all ~540 stores.
- Tupperware Brands — Iconic food storage company; filed in September amid declining sales.
- The Container Store — Home organization retailer; filed in December.
- Party City — Party supplies chain; filed in December (second filing in recent years), planning widespread closures.
- True Value — Hardware cooperative; filed in October, sold operations to rival Do It Best.
- LL Flooring (formerly Lumber Liquidators) — Flooring specialist; filed in August.
- The Body Shop (U.S. operations) — Cosmetics and skincare; filed Chapter 7 in March, closing all U.S. stores.
- Bowflex — Home fitness equipment; filed in March, assets sold.
- 99 Cents Only Stores — Discount chain; filed and liquidated all stores.
- Red Lobster — Seafood chain; filed in May, closed dozens of locations but restructured to continue operating.
- TGI Fridays — Casual dining/bar chain; filed in November, shrinking footprint significantly.
- Buca di Beppo — Italian family-style restaurant; filed in August.
- Rubio's Coastal Grill — Mexican fast-casual; filed in June, closed many locations.
- Tijuana Flats — Tex-Mex chain; filed in April.
- Spirit Airlines — Budget airline; filed in November amid debt and operational issues.
- Stoli Group USA — Vodka brand distributor; filed in December.
Yes, 2023 was a tough year for many U.S. brands, with corporate bankruptcy filings reaching a 13-year high (around 642 total, per S&P Global), up significantly from prior years. This was driven by rising interest rates making debt more expensive, lingering post-pandemic shifts in consumer behavior, inflation pressures, and operational challenges. Retail faced particular strain, with several high-profile closures, though not all filings led to full shutdowns—many used Chapter 11 for reorganization. While hundreds of companies filed, here are some of the most notable U.S. brands—both large and smaller—that filed for bankruptcy in 2023:Retail & Consumer Goods- Bed Bath & Beyond (including buybuy BABY) — Iconic home goods retailer; filed in April, closed all ~480 stores in one of the largest retail bankruptcies in years (brand later acquired and relaunched online).
- Party City — Party supplies chain; filed in January, restructured and emerged in September with some store closures but majority remaining open.
- Tuesday Morning — Discount home goods retailer; filed in February (second filing in recent years), closed all ~200 stores.
- David’s Bridal — Largest U.S. bridal retailer; filed in April, restructured without major closures.
- Rite Aid — Pharmacy chain; filed in October, planned hundreds of store closures as part of restructuring.
- Christmas Tree Shops — Discount home decor; filed in May, liquidated all stores.
- Forma Brands (parent of Morphe cosmetics) — Beauty brands; filed in January.
- Independent Pet Partners (Chuck & Don’s, Natural Pawz, etc.) — Pet supplies; filed in February.
- WeWork — Co-working space giant; filed in November amid massive valuation drop and office market shifts.
- SmileDirectClub — Direct-to-consumer teeth aligners; filed in September, shut down operations shortly after.
- Yellow Corp. — Major trucking company; filed in August after ceasing operations, laying off ~30,000.
- Virgin Orbit — Satellite launch company (Richard Branson-backed); filed in April after failed funding.
- SVB Financial Group (parent of Silicon Valley Bank) — Filed in March following bank collapse.
at least you tried.

Joe Biden granted approximately 4,245 acts of clemency (individual pardons and commutations combined) during his presidency (2021–2025). This is the highest total on record for any U.S. president.
