if you understood my post I found online ... It is impossible to provide a definitive number of lives saved by guns each year, as there is no official national count for such incidents. The estimated figures vary dramatically, ranging from tens of thousands to millions, depending on the research methodology and definition of "defensive gun use" (DGU)

Which, if you think about it, makes sense. The news will report when a person is shot and killed but not the times when a crime was avoided. How do you possibly keep stats on that? So, if you think there no crimes or people not being killed whosoever in the country because citizens are carrying guns, then ok, but if you think there are, then "tens of thousands to millions" seems likely.

We keep stats when comes to car accidents but there are no stats showing how many millions of people drive each day accident free.

I live in a city with one of the highest gun ownership on the planet. Only once every blue moon do you hear someone encountered and stopped a perp from committing a crime. Even rarer do you see where it saved their life. Most of the time the perp is trying to get away and the citizen shoots him in the back anyway. We just had a dumb dumb shoot and kill a 11 year old ringing doorbells playing ding dong ditch. He’ll be spending a lot of years in prison.

Guns rarely prevent crimes. It’s a fallacy. Much higher numbers of gun related violence and fatalities. Guns are more likely used in homicides, suicides, or accidentally deaths.

US citizens are not safer with more guns. That’s ludicrous. We need less guns and we really need to get it out of the hands of <30 year old boys.

Alarms, video cameras etc. When a criminal sees a house which has an alarm, they will likely move on to another place to rob. Criminals are generally very lazy. We will never actually know how many break-in crimes the house with an alarm prevented, but its certainly some. Same with a big dog. How many criminals said "hell no" when they saw Brutus in the yard? Doesn't it make sense that it works much the same when it comes to guns? I mean Chicago has the strictest gun laws in the country and every weekend there are several people shot and killed.

Listen man, I wish there weren't gun either. There are solutions. You have an armed retired cop at schools. That will greatly prevent school shootings. How this hasn't been done already is nuts. Yes we view life differently. I’ve actually lived in major cities across this great country. You live on an island. Robb elementary school in Uvalde ~20 kids murdered. Sante Fe high school, 10 kids gunned down. Both schools had armed guards. The police stood outside with guns while the perp continued to gun down little kids. Kids on their cell phones pleading for help, 20+ minutes the police were too scared to engage. Those kids died with officers right outside the door. Guess what this state governor did? He banned kids from having cell phones in school.

I don't live on an island. You don't need to fall off a roof to know its gonna hurt, so you telling me that you have lived in a major city or if I lived on an island, is irrelevant.

I remember the Robb elementary school thing with the police standing outside. It was insane. So why not allow teachers to carry firearms? The killer won't know which ones do or don't have a gun. I know its a touchy subject when it cones to teachers having guns, but it has to be better than barricading themselves in a classroom just waiting to be killed. At least you have a chance.

Jimmy lost Disney a fortune every year and his latest lie seems like a perfect opportunity for ABC to make the move. CBS just admitted they were going to fire Colbert several months ago. ABC operated under FCC guidelines which are much different than cable or social media. You can't even swear on ABC. Jimmy can get his own show on YouTube where he can swear and lie all he wants. He's got 4 houses and more money than he can ever spend.
