The SCOTUS protected Trump with rulings, (that put him above the law) that our country did not need, for over 240 years. Even if, the future ramifications, could be devastating.
No POTUS needed criminal protection, for over 240 years, until we had a criminal POTUS.Comment -

#13203About bloody time!!!
The NY Times finally did a story on Trump’s cognitive decline.
It’s currently the main story on their site.
“He rambles, he repeats himself, he roams from thought to thought — some of them hard to understand, some of them unfinished, some of them factually fantastical. He voices outlandish claims that seem to be made up out of whole cloth. He digresses into bizarre tangents about golf, about sharks, about his own “beautiful” body. He relishes “a great day in Louisiana” after spending the day in Georgia. He expresses fear that North Korea is “trying to kill me” when he presumably means Iran. As late as last month, Mr. Trump was still speaking as if he were running against President Biden, five weeks after his withdrawal from the race.”

#13206CNN's resident fact checker, Daniel Dale, put together a timeline of Donald Trump's lies about FEMA and the federal response to Hurricane Helene:
Monday: Trump falsely claims Biden hasn’t answered calls from Georgia’s governor
Monday: Trump cites baseless ‘reports’ about anti-Republican bias in the North Carolina response
Thursday: Trump falsely claims the Biden-Harris response had received ‘universally’ negative reviews
Thursday: Trump falsely claims Harris spent ‘all her FEMA money’ on housing illegal migrants
Friday: Trump falsely claims $1 billion was ‘stolen’ from FEMA for migrants and has gone ‘missing’
Saturday: Trump falsely claims the federal government is only giving $750 to people who lost their homes
Saturday: Trump falsely claims there are ‘no helicopters, no rescue’ in North CarolinaComment -

The Georgia indictment, a lot of that happened after he was out of office, and others have already plead guilty in that case. They need/needed a different DA to handle that case.Comment -

#13214"The Chain of Nepotism"
The new wave of truth checkers was relentless. They didn’t just fact-check the headlines or the outrageous claims shouted from podiums—they were now tracing the roots of the disinformation tree, and what they found was an intricate web of nepotism. The Trump family had become its own chain of disinformation, with each member playing their role in spreading falsehoods and deflecting blame. It was a dynasty built on lies, propped up by platforms too slow to counter them, but the tide was turning.
@LaraLeaTrump was the latest to feel the pressure. In the midst of the chaos following Hurricane Helene, she had taken to the airwaves to echo the disinformation her father-in-law had been peddling about federal relief efforts. Trump’s claims, amplified by conspiracy theorists, were aimed at undermining the federal response to the disaster. But now, as Lara tried to keep the lie alive, she found herself up against a new kind of resistance.
On live TV, @DanaBashCNN pressed her: “Trump is spreading disinformation about Hurricane Helene relief and echoing conspiracy theorists online. Why?”
Lara, ever the loyal mouthpiece, deflected. She had grown accustomed to dodging such questions, throwing out half-truths and platitudes. But this time, Bash didn’t let it go. She dug in, cutting through the facade.
“$750 is just a first step,” Bash continued, explaining the facts clearly. “It’s for immediate needs like baby formula.”
Lara squirmed, visibly uncomfortable, but she tried again to deflect, repeating the same tired lines, hoping to run out the clock. But the old tactics didn’t work here. The truth checkers were no longer just playing defense—they were going on the offensive.
“That is misinformation,” Bash fired back. “If people are getting incorrect information, they can’t get assistance.”
And there it was—the heart of the issue. This wasn’t just about spinning a narrative or winning a news cycle.
The lies Trump and his family were spreading had real-world consequences. People in need of aid were being misled, misinformed, and left without the help they so desperately required. The disinformation wasn’t just political anymore—it was deadly.
Lara stammered, trying to regain control of the conversation. “Well—”
But Bash was prepared. “Here is GOP senator @ThomTillis praising the federal response,” she said, cutting through the noise with cold, hard facts.
The truth was winning, and the chain of nepotism that had propped up the Trump disinformation machine was cracking under the pressure. Lara, like the rest of the family, had been used to playing fast and loose with the truth, but now she was being held accountable, in real-time, on a national stage.
The battering was relentless. Each lie she tried to push was met with immediate correction. Each deflection was shut down before it could take hold. The new wave of truth checkers wasn’t just fact-checking—they were dismantling the entire infrastructure of nepotism and misinformation that had held sway for so long.
The Trump family, once untouchable in their bubble of lies, was now facing a world where truth reigned supreme. The dynasty was weakening, and with every passing day, the lies became harder to sell, the deflections more transparent.
Nepotism had given the Trump family access to the biggest platforms in the country, but now, those same platforms were turning against them. The truth checkers were relentless, and the days of unchecked falsehoods were over.

#13218Quid pro quo?
The MeidasTouch Network has just reported on a newly disclosed contract — uncovered by American Muckrakers — showing that Trump’s campaign paid $100,000 to RFK Jr.’s law firm, JW Howard, just 11 days after RFK Jr. dropped out of the presidential race and endorsed Trump. Hmm.
The timing isn’t the only suspicious thing about the contract. For one thing, the contract is for a flat one-time $100,000 fee, instead of a billable hourly rate that is more of the norm for legal services agreements.
Also odd is the alleged purpose of the contract, which states that in exchange for the $100,000, JW Howard will provide the Trump campaign with “political/legal research regarding presidential candidate Kamala Harris and any other services reasonably related to those services.”
But if you look at the law firm’s website, they don’t say anything about providing political-related legal services or research of any kind. They position the firm as “business litigators of the highest calibre.” The firm’s list of specialty practice areas are not related in any way to political/legal research. They’re trial lawyers.
We all know that Trump is a very transactional person, so I have no problem believing that he’d be willing to pay off RFK Jr. to get him to drop out. And RFK Jr. seems to be a very transactional person as well and devoid of any true values or principles. We know that before he endorsed Trump he had first reached out to the Harris-Walz campaign about getting a job in a future Harris administration if he were to drop out, which the campaign declined to do, so it looks like he opted to get a nice sum of money to do Trump’s bidding instead.
As MTN reports, it will interesting to see if and how this payment is shown on the Trump campaign’s next financial disclosure documents to the FEC, which are due by October 15.

#13228No one has to take back the flag. Just fly it and display it with pride, like you do with a pride flag, for instance.
Unfortunately, Democrats have prioritized pride flags, BLM (buy large mansions) flags, transPOC banners, and whole bunch of other shite above the US flag - which represents everyone.
Until that changes, I don’t see Democrats taking back the flag any time soon. They don’t want to and it should speak volumes.Comment -
