We really are not very far apart here. It's the politics that get played with people that do not know all the codes, nor should they, that get told something that sounds like one thing when really it's another. Both sides do it. Not just Trump.

My point was only that although you are correct that doing this now would probably speed up the program a little bit towards bankruptcy, unless something major is done to right the past wrongs of the stealing and tax evasion, the program is doomed long term whether taxed or not

Totally Agree.

What is so frustrating about politics for me is that here, we can find common ground in several hours when at first it was nowhere in sight. Yet in politics, they cannot do it and they see one another 5 days a week for months at a time and for years. Seems to me the only reason for that is their concern regarding re-election.

Dividing voters keeps most of us from realizing that if we can do it, why can’t they. But we are not worried about reelection or promises made to key figures. All we want to do is see results and make things better for everyone, especially those that struggle no matter the reason.

If the voters resisted the obvious crap both sides toss out, the voters would keep their eye on the prize. But divide and conquer seems to own the moment in politics and as long as all the voters allow it to happen, very little will change.

That’s my take.
I appreciate the conversation, not at first, but in the long run for sure.
