German Chancellor Olaf Scholz has decided to deliver the battle tanks following “months of debate,” according to the German news outlet’s exclusive report.

From what I understand Germany and other European countries are set to replace Leopard 2 tanks with a new tank in a few years. Sending them to Ukraine seems like a better option than just waiting 5 years for them to be replaced and then scrapping them. Hopefully they will make a difference.
