There was no debate. 90% of the posts I saw were sympathetic for the victim. Guys robbing small businesses that are restaurants I dont have any sympathy for at all. The margins for the owner are so small and it's hard to keep them running.

He was out on parole as you said and in the place he robbed prior the business owner was shot and killed by his accomplice. His mother did not fly to his defense because she knew her son was a crook crumb bum criminal.
