These are the idiots that want $25 an hour.

Honestly they shouldnt want to work that job at all. It offers no long term value to their life and if i was making coffees for some of the disrespectful people that probably come in there too I would want out as well.
What i think is funny about this site is that some people here think that people should just put their head down and work and shut their mouth at a low wage labor job when in the end it doesnt get you anywhere. But I think that just comes from the fact that we have alot of old rigid people here that want to yell at the clouds about no one wanting to work when its really no one wants to work at a place that offers no value. Its ok rigid people get left behind as time moves forwards, its undefeated in history.

Most of the folks who do these jobs are university students, newcomers and folks who didn't bother getting more education. Lots of these people have no option so yes they should work hard and stay quiet. Also maybe they can do well and eventually be a manager at one of them and even possible to become an area representative etc. It doesn't offer value to lots of people but it helps many as well.

Congratulations on your success. This entire diatribe isn’t reality. Success to some degree is about putting your head down through good and bad and working. This is a person crying about basic job requirements. Where do people start working then? Where do they learn the basic skills of showing up on time, work ethic and following instructions? Please direct me to the book. I started at one of these “low wage” jobs with “no long term value” and learned the basic work skills to then start a business in the same industry that now has almost $100 million in revenue and 170 employees in 26 states. It seemed to help me. Maybe I’m just old and rigid at the ripe age of 42.

For every one of you theres probably 1000 that are used and abused and then let go after they "keep their mouth shut and work hard" but maybe dont feel the politics of that job environment.
While you may just perceive his job as normal it may not be. Does he not have a right to not work 12 hour plus shifts on the weekend while going to school? Should he not speak up about it? What he goes hard and does the shifts and never says anything then doesnt do well in school because of it? Who won in that situation? Not him.
Thats my point, these jobs are exactly what they are and you should be treated that way. Low labor jobs with low expectations and no one should just stay quiet about something like that if its going to effect their long term ability to succeed.
This situation is different from yours mjsuax because I'm assuming you used this type of job as more of "training" to run your own business which means you got value out it and so the job got something out of you and you got something out of it. My point was if a person doesnt get something that helps them long term than yes they shouldnt have to keep their mouth shut and not say anything.

Yes if their career goals are to advance through to those levels then i see your point. My point may not have translated well but basically in this persons situation it sounded like he was getting scheduled outside of what was expected and in turns his education was going to suffer. In that situation i dont think he should stay quiet but the long term value is in his education not being a barista

I know some lard asses that couldn't do an eight hour shift in a week and a half.

An eight shift is part time, hell, many a time I've had do consecutive twelve hour shift, overnight running a data center.

An eight shift is part time, hell, many a time I've had do consecutive twelve hour shift, overnight running a data center.
Graveyard is a totally different animal than your normal nine to five.
I worked swing shift for 20 years, my brother did 40 years same place he started at 18 and retired at 58. If you just worked what you had to in a year the OT hours probably 250 hours a year, I volunteered for OT often I worked at least 400 hours OT a year. There were a few that worked over 800 hours OT every year.

The OP Kermit must be a reincarnated Spartan. Anybody that you didn't like, anybody who was different than you, anybody who had a handicap, the Spartans simply tossed them off a tall cliff. Is that true Kermit? Do you not have any shame?

I don't think you have the ballz to respond. As the parent of a special needs son ignorant POS like yourself are my worst nightmare. If you are smart you'll allow this ostentatious Thread to perish. Your other alternative would be to confront me and you will get an undressing the likes of SBR has never seen.

Think carefully about your two choices.
