Former President Donald Trump said at a Saturday rally that Meta executive Mark Zuckerberg joined him for dinner at the White House "last week," despite having been out of office for more than a year and a half.




At a Pennsylvania rally supporting senate candidate Dr. Mehmet Oz and gubernatorial candidate Doug Mastriano, the first since the FBI searched his Mar-a-Lago residence, Trump briefly fixated on the chief executive of Facebook's parent company.


"Last week, the weirdo — he's a weirdo — Mark Zuckerberg came to the White House, kissed my ass all night," Trump said during the speech, going on to mimic their alleged conversation: "'Sir, I'd love to have dinner, sir. I'd love to have dinner. I'd love to bring my lovely wife.' All right, Mark, come on in. 'Sir, you're number one on Facebook. I'd like to congratulate you.' Thank you very much, Mark. I appreciate it."




Trump has previously made similar comments about Zuckerberg. Last year, following his suspension from Facebook, he said the executive "used to come to the White House to kiss [his] ass" and called Zuckerberg "sick" for deplatforming him.

In Saturday's campaign speech, Trump added: "Well, Mark Zuckerberg confessed that in 2020, the FBI went to Facebook and the media and gave them the false narratives that the Hunter Biden laptop from hell was Russian disinformation, even though they knew that was not true. So they went in they said it was Russian disinformation, by the way."

Released search warrant reveals Trump suspected of violating Espionage Act


Four days after Donald Trump publicly confirmed the search of his Mar-a-Lago resort by the FBI, the public now has access to the search warrant.
Shortly after 3 p.m. on Friday, the Justice Department confirmed that the former president's lawyers would not oppose the public release of the search warrant and underlying receipt of materials, which had already begun to circulate widely — including to friendly outlets like Breitbart and the Wall Street Journal.

The right-wing Breitbart initially cited three criminal laws including the Espionage Act, which covers the unlawful retention of defense-related information that could harm the U.S. or aid a foreign adversary, before adding a clarification meant to downplay the severity of the allegations.


On Thursday, a man with a reported history of fervent support for Trump was killed in a shootout with FBI agents.


Signed on Aug. 5 by federal magistrate Judge Bruce Reinhart, the warrant lists the "transmission of national defense information or classified material" and the collection of "any evidence of the knowing alteration, destruction, or concealment of any government and/or Presidential Records, or of any documents with classification markings."


According to Politico, the retrieved documents include the highest levels of government classification.

One item was labeled "Executive grant of clemency re: Roger Jason Stone, Jr.," the longtime confidant pardoned by Trump in his final days in office. Another item was labeled "Info re: President of France.

The New York Times' Shane Goldmacher reports that the drop in online donations to the WinRed platform dropped by 12 percent in the second quarter of 2022, which he says has left party officials "alarmed" about their ability to compile a large enough war chest to deliver truly punishing defeats to Democrats.
In addition to the GOP's unexpected online fundraising woes, Democrats have also seen a surge in small-dollar donations despite the fact that President Joe Biden is dealing with record-low approval ratings for a president at this point in his first term.
This has resulted in Democrats widening their edge in online donations by roughly $100 million over the first half of 2022.
According to Goldmacher's reporting, at least part of the problem for Republicans can be traced back to the deeds of former President Donald Trump.
"Exacerbating the fund-raising problems for Republicans is that Mr. Trump continues to be the party's dominant fund-raiser and yet virtually none of the tens of millions of dollars he has raised has gone toward defeating Democrats," he writes. "Instead, the money has funded his political team and retribution agenda against Republicans who have crossed him."
