Tell me life isn't a kick in the balls
Was trying to contact a Veteran of the Sports-message forums. Hadn't talked to him in a while. Wanted to re-connect.

He was enthusiastic. Always got back to me quickly when I had an idea. No response for a few days, I wondered if something was up.

Googled his real name. Poor bastard died in a car accident.

RIP, my man. Did get to meet him once, it was fun. Guys, if you haven't figured out by now that life is fleeting, then you're not paying attention.

    Very fleeting.

I don't like how we notice someone has disappeared with no obvious reason in their last posts but never know for sure.

Salud, Opti. Thanks for the note.

I mentioned some months ago that "BSims" had stopped posting. I was less surprised to find out that he had passed. You saw how open he was about his health problems.

This other poster (who I'll call "BM") was a young man, his exit was sudden. I can say that "BM" had a similar background to mine and therefore had similar interests. He was always supportive of my pursuits. And he showed me optimism when I needed it. RIP, "BM".

            Thanks, Polo.

Yes, pondering life can take one down a rabbit's hole. Best solution I can think of is to Go Hard and Hope for the Best.

We'll all be gone soon enough. Henry Rollins has some good songs that ponder the Meaning of Life, LOL.

                      Thanks, manny!

BM was maybe my top handicapping buddy. We discussed strategies. He was a very bright guy.

                        Salud, Roscoe. I hear you.

This year, it's been coming at me. Multiple deaths, some expected and some very un-expected.

People die it's what we do. It's inevitable and the death clock is always ticking for all of us. Can't beat father time.

You can only hope to avoid the early exits in life with car accidents and diseases though.

Why do you need a heater for your hot water?

                            It's already hot.
