There are 3 different ways for you to win 500 Points or MORE.
#1. Win the most games(not %) in this Tourney out of anyone on SBR besides myself. blankoblanco won this in the last Tourney with 10 total wins.
#1A. In this Tourney there will be a SPECIAL for Newbies(anyone besides DanielEspinosa, blankoblanco, Ian, gauchojake, and jackpot269 will qualify) to win 500 points. If none of the Newbies win a game, I will give 500 points to the Newbie that came closest to winning a COMPLETED game. If any of your opponents should timeout(this is not uncommon in the 1st Round) you will still be credited for the win. There were no newbies in the last Tourney, but jackpot269 won this in the Tourney before the last one with 0 Wins. Yes, you read that correctly. Because he was the only newbie to join the Tourney, and because he played at least 1 COMPLETED game, he automatically Won the 500 points, even though he went winless. I must say though, he was in a VERY tough Section.
#2. Section Winner Prediction Picks. I will explain this more thoroughly once the Tourney starts. If you tie or beat me, it's worth 1000 points. But if you don't tie or beat me, it's only worth 500 points. jackpot269 and DanielEspinosa tied for this in the last Tourney, but they did not beat me, so they split 500 points. And the Tourney before the last one, blankoblanco got the full 1000 points.
#3. Tourney Winner Prediction. jackpot269 got this one right in the last Tourney and Won the 500 points. My only rule is, you can't pick me as I will be picking myself. There are now several very strong and well known Othello players in the Othello community that join and play in these Tournaments, including at least 2 that are the #1 Ranked Othello players from their country. So, I am no longer the favorite in these Tournaments anymore.
Also, if anyone on SBR should WIN the Tourney you will Win 3000 points. And if you pick yourself to Win the Tourney AND you Win the Tourney... I'll give you 5000 Points(I may need to make installments on this).
For new players, to create an account you will need to send itsyourturn.com an email to websupport@itsyourturn.com and tell them that you want to create an account. You can tell them Holden2341 is organizing another Hexversi Tournament and you want to join it. They should get back to you fairly quickly. Please use your SBR name as your username at IYT.
Once you have an account and username created, to sign up for the Tourney, go to Tournament area and click on August 2022 Open Fast #1 Tournament by Monday, August 8th. Find Hexversi and check the box and click submit down below. And you'll be good to go.
For newbies, or anyone else, you can practice on this CPU in this link below.

Also, starting on page 5 in this thread in the link below, I start giving "Lessons" on strategy tips. I'm sure most of it will sound rather confusing if you are brand new to the game. But, if you play enough games on the CPU and you want to learn some strategy, I recommend reading the Lessons in the link below from pages 5 and on. There's a few on page 4 I think as well, but from page 5 and on it's mostly lessons. (Edit: I am just realizing now, if you start on page 5, there is a lot of lingo that I use, much of that I made up specific for Hexversi and some of it is Othello lingo. Your best bet is to start at post #117 on page 4, I THINK that is the first lesson. If you start from the first lesson I go over the lingo a bit I THINK. Anyway, if anyone has any questions about the lingo, like WTF does this mean? Let me know.)
I am requesting that everyone that joins this Tourney to give me 1 point in this post. This is simply so I can keep track of who has joined.
The Tournament will start on Tuesday, August 9th. I am hoping for at least 50 players to sign up. I haven't done any recruiting yet on IYT or on Facebook but I will do that over the next few days or so.
Hexversi is a very simple game that ANYONE can learn in a couple of minutes or less. I recommend watching the minute and a half Othello(same rules) instructional video below if you want to know ALL the rules. If anyone has any questions, let me know in this thread.
