    Dr. Visit
    Just got back from Cardiologist
Do you ever look at the bill after you have been to the Dr.?

Here's what mine looked like today

    $380 visit

    $250 insurance discount

    $130
    $95 pay by insurance

    $35 you owe

So if I didn't have insurance am I responsible for $380?

it is all a game. even that they charge $380 - did they do anything to warrant that as the original amount really?

jackpot, all that political back and forth can't be good for the ol' ticker...

Hopefully you got a good report?

You must stick out like a sore thumb out there in Alabama as a far leftist?

I dont consider myself far left, I'm left of center for sure!! Its about 75% Republican in my area right now and its no secret I don't like Trump never have.
I avoided the rush I started not liking him in the 1990's well before a lot of people even knew who he was.

Dr. was happy with everything, commented on how much better I am since he first started treating me

                              Those are small numbers, brother.

Your insurance worked good if you bill was $35.

I think it's ...yep....if you didn't have insurance you'd owe the whole thing.

I've heard of many people goin bankrupt due to medical bills. (who have ins.)

Some people have to get in the "quagmire" of the medical insurance industry which makes chinese algebra look easy.

Looks like you got a clean bill of health, and have your "bettin" money intact.

Thanks for stopping by. I was just surprised at the amount they discount for ins. but they probably negotiate a contract each year or muti year to get the business.

CWS got Fisk, Raines & Tom Seaver too. And Konerko. Glad I converted in '70 to CWS when my beloved Cubs crashed and burned in '69. Terry Forester and Goose Gossage were rookies too. Post '69 only Cub I admired was Dawson.

40 miles away. 294 tollway has no speed limit, 25 mins if I'm in a hurry. Live two blocks from I294 & I290/ Route 20. There are no dumb questions, only dumb answers.

Do you ever look at the bill after you have been to the Dr.?

Here's what mine looked like today

                                              $380 visit

                                              $250 insurance discount

                                              $130
                                              $95 pay by insurance

                                              $35 you owe

So if I didn't have insurance am I responsible for $380?
Doctors tend to give discounts when you pay cash. They jack the price up because they know the insurance company will want a lower price and won't pay the doctor's "sticker" price.

A Great center fielder Aaron Rowland, traded to Detroit, broke my heart Jake. The Expos in 80's, Gary Carter, Raines (automatic double stealing 2nd base), & Dawson. Lost to STL in the playoffs one year, there only real chance 2B in the WS. Also, Richie Allen was my boyhood hero out of Philly. He was big in Horse racing too. Konerko a major catalyst in 2005 WS win.

A few years ago my eye doctor thought I might have glaucoma, so I was going in every few months for regular tests. During that time, my insurance changed to a company my doctor didn't take. I went in for an appointment and paid $120 without insurance, which was also my copay with it. I asked about that, and they said that if I use insurance, they charge over $360, but without they only charge $120.
