Karen yells at me for checking my car after she nearly crashes into it.



Little 16-year-old me is in the parking lot, waiting at a stop sign and about to turn onto the main road, when I see a minivan barreling down towards me. I stay put and the van makes a sharp turn into the parking lot, missing the front of my car by maybe 2 inches. Her sideview mirror bumps into mine, but luckily my mirror can fold inwards, so no damage is actually done.
Still, I'm freaking out because I had JUST gotten my license and wasn't used to such aggressive drivers. Also didn't know how car insurance policies worked at the time and didn't want parents yelling at me for jacking up the cost of my premium. I get out and give the driver a "WTF" look as I check for damages, but don't confront her or anything. Karen leaves her car running and stomps over. "What are you looking at? I didn't hit your car! And I had right of way, so you should learn to drive better!"
The current me would have given her the finger and told her to penetrate off. But the terrified and timid little high schooler me just got back into my car, swallowed back tears, and drove home.
I gotta say, I'm still kind of mad that I didn't stand up for myself back then. penetrate you, soccer mom Karen. I hope you wrapped your white Honda Odyssey with those fugly-ass vanity plates around a tree.
