Well, that holds true for every president ever. No president to my knowledge has lowered our national debt. Our debt/gdp ration ran about 99% under Obama, 105% under Trump and about currently about 130%. It jumped in 2020 due to covid but neither party cares about debt. Neither party is more fiscally reaponsible than the other.

Funny you say Trump was amazing but every year under Trump was was the highest year our debt had ever been up to that point in American history.
