Outside of that, all things factored it, it's a great place to relocate.

I'm sick of the New England taxes up the ass myself, but Florida is out for me.

I lived in FL from 07' to 11' I loved it. The heat was tough when I was down there for the first year but your body adapts. I had to come back up here when everything went to shit after the crash in 08'

I still haven't made up my mind. I'd be leaving a federal job w/ all the job security for a private company that could fire me anytime they want. My daughter goes to UF, so I'd be closer to her, but would be leaving my older daughter who I got a job out here with me. I also have two younger boys (8th & 10th grade) who I have to consider as well.

That's right chief! Held up here still because I own Commercial Real Estate in Los Angeles and still figuring things out with that. I have partners also. My house is also a concern as well which is almost now void of furniture. 1031 tax exchange and I'm working that out in my head. Getting there..

Jibbby, you can't 1031 out of your residence bro. Why would you sell the commercial in LA? Just keep it.

Honestly the best thing to do would be to turn your residence into a short term rental. Just use the income to qualify for a new place in Florida. Maybe take some equity for a down payment if you need it.
