This is a really drastic move. There are gardening companies that have 10's of 1,000's of dollars of gas powered lawn equipment. This will lead to all kinds of major issues. California is the last place where you want to have the grass getting high.

Everything is going electric. Where do you think all of that electricity comes from? Pollution spewing power plants. California isn't doing itself any favors here, they already have razor thin margins for electrical consumption with the need or rolling blackouts during the summer.

I've never seen a place so desperate to be green but not be able to make the pollution numbers of a general tractor pulling contest in Iowa. The wild fires every year alone put them in one of the highest per capita state for polluters but hey as long as your not burning fuel I guess everything is good.

Jibbby - have you read the proposed ban? It doesn't go into effect for a few years and it would not include your 1980 lawn mower you currently have. Why do you get so triggered over stuff that don't involve you? When is the last time you mowed a lawn? You don't even have a lawn in North Santa Monica.

There's also laws on cars having zero emissions by 2030 and trucks by 2055. Are you really worried about things that far in the future?
