Facebook Whistleblower’s Testimony Builds Momentum for Tougher Tech Laws

Youngish blonde whistleblower Frances Haugen testified to Congress Tuesday after a tease on 60 Minutes Sunday night.

Republican and Democratic lawmakers were in rare agreement which if that doesn't scare the hell out of you, you need to put down the ganja pipe.

Ms. Haugen also raised national-security concerns. Of course she did.

Ms. Haugen was hired by Facebook two years ago to help protect against election interference on Facebook.

In other news, to make sure you are paying attention, Facebook crashed and Fuckerberg supposedly lost $6B.

Key takeaways from Facebook whistleblower Frances Haugen's Senate testimony

    From ABC News

Minutes after her testimony, Facebook issued a statement attempting to discredit Haugen, stating that she worked for the company "for less than two years, had no direct reports, never attended a decision-point meeting with C-level executives – and testified more than six times to not working on the subject matter in question."

Here are key takeaways from former Facebook employee turned whistleblower Frances Haugen's testimony before a Senate Commerce subcommittee on Tuesday.

Although senators from both parties appeared to support her calls to regulate Facebook, how and when that might happen was unclear.

Around 2019, Facebook started using a revamped algorithm called "downstream MSI,"

Zuckerberg, she said, was apparently also presented with options to remove the MSI algorithm in the case of Myanmar, a country where Facebook has been allegedly used to incite violence and spread hate speech.

"Mark was presented with these options and chose to not remove downstream MSI in April of 2020," Haugen told the subcommittee.

Frances Haugen is now one of the most famous people in America.

    Does she deserve it?

    Probably not.

    Haugen is an activist.

She is being advised by Obama’s former deputy press secretary, Bill Burton.

Now people all over America are talking about her, and many are regarding her as some sort of a hero.

Facebook’s top executives have made at least $3.9 million in political donations, according to data from the Federal Election Commission.

        Nothing will happen

$4mm in political donations in 2020

        $0 (ZERO) to Trump

Liberals have an almost tribal mentality when it comes to protecting each other.

        It's hypocritical and embarrassing
