....and there is a serial killer on the loose out there, w a double homicide committed just a week earlier

I bet they had a fight, she took off to a different hotel or something and boom....he couldn't find her so he drove home (to her parents)

IDK guy didn't hit her during an altercation that was provoked by her, drug induced and witnessed by a 3rd party I can't see him killing her then....

The only thing I find wrong with your scenario. If that did happen, why wouldn't he just say so. Clear himself. He's getting as much advice as he can and they are trying to figure out the best lie so he stays out of jail. JMO
