I've had some success on dating sites....no keepers but had some good times and one is a good friend I've known for years now. If you ever decide to head that way Zoosk is good for short term and Match is good for long term.

I tried eHarmony and POF about 10 years ago without much success. Dating sites always seem like the "Amazon" version of hooking up..always had more luck with the "brick and mortar" route whether it be meeting someone at work or being set up by friends.
