I actually agree with this. The barring of felons from voting after they have served their time is troublesome to me. You could argue that the States have the right to bar felons from voting in State elections, but you should be able to vote in National elections.

Prisons are supposed to take away physical freedoms to protect others. Period. Privatized prisons are money making machines and have little to do with justice. So let me ask you this if you can take away every freedom in a corrupt justice system what keeps whoever is in power at the time to completely politicize the prison system it is already completely monetized.

Much like common sense would suggest you shouldn't let those who take benefit from the public treasury vote for benefits from the public treasury, one would think that those who are incarcerated for violating the law and taking other pwoples freedoms shouldn't be allowed to vote on the law...

Taking away voting rights is tricky

People always looking for a way for their existence to mean more than someone elses, or their vote to count worth more (just look back at when blacks votes mattered less), etc......

Im certainly fine entertaining the idea but its a slippery slope and we alreafy have fatty saying only property owners should vote, next if you have a Masters or Doctorate your vote counts worth 2, blah blah blah

Its all gray and there is no right or wrong answer, just the decisions of the people in power decide to make for us
