If so, do you ever receive email notices that the service will be down on a given date?
    Thanks.
I just called and was routed to a Western Rep. (I'm in the East) who had no idea about it.

    Cox is still in business?
I thought they sold like 20 years ago.

I guess not, google search says they are still alive and kicking.

My suggestion would be to email them.

They are very big in this area of Va. for tv and internet. They also have phone in many buildings dedicated to Cox. They tried to compete in the cell phone business maybe 8 or 9 years ago, but gave it up. They are big out West in Az and California. Plus I have talked to reps in Atlanta Ga and other places. They are likely about non-existant in the North from my readings.

I remember Cox being huge in Western Pa but I also remember some bigger telecommunications outfit looking at a merger, like T-Mobile did.

The Cox Family according to a Google Search is worth $32 Billion. 60 plus years in business. Like everything else bigger doesn't always mean better. They assume everybody has all the latest and greatest gadgets. I guess in the cyber world we live in today, it's only going to get piled on deeper and deeper.

I have cox and they are one of the best in my opinion. I have never rec'd emails or calls that they will be down.. There are allot of frauds. I just rec'd a call from fake Amazon about ordering a thousand dollar phone. I just hung up ... 383 4000 with my area code. I call them any time if there's a problem. They have always been helpful... Have them over 33 years... Best internet service...

Their rep says that Covid has increased to need to do work on their network. They will send another email within 2 days of the downtime, which they say in one sentence will be short. In another place in letter it could exceed 4 hours..LOL. This has been an ongoing thing for about a month now. Yes, they have been good overall.

I am not in Cox country, I'm in IT and have heard Cox is solid but I thought they were involved in a serious merger.
I can't keep up with all the IT news however.
