Foreigners being deported, v i s a s not being renewed, signs everywhere "no foreigners" , new strain of covid that is very deadly. Perfectly healthy young people are dying. Only 1 million people have been vaccinated, no vaccines yet for the public, they purchased the Russian one and Astra but it won't be another 6 months to a year. They are developing their own vaccine but it has yet to reach phase 3. It is a complete mess and chaotic as hell here. I am a resident so my paperwork is legit, I can't be deported. There were 7 hospital where I live doing PCR covid tests for $65 with a travel certificate saying you are "fit" to fly. Many hospitals are shut down and stopped doing them. Now there is only 1 hospital doing the tests for $565.000 ( what a scam) but foreigners have no choice, you need it to board the plane. Vietnam has been closed off to the world since Covid and they have no signs of reopening anytime soon. They are not like Thailand, they do not rely on tourism. The country is actually doing well but it is a mess now regards to covid and the treatment of foreigners. I am in a good network of Vietnamese people plus I speak Vietnamese so I am good here. It is something out of a movie what is going on here now.
