I lived in LA at that time and LAPD was so corrupt, especially Rampart, I knew the jurors would find reasonable doubt. Appeals courts don't second-guess juries. As long as the judge ran the trial properly, it will stand. And it seemed to me that he bent over backwards to make sure everything was by the book.

Campus police make more then regular police in California. For example, my buddy applied for UCLA campus police just because the pay was 20% more then LAPD. Police get paid garbage in general. Good pensions though.
