Trying to learn more this way. I may want to give up Cox. But that comes with nightmares for my email. I'm supposed to call a Customer Retention Ph # Monday, about the Tv prices. But, if I leave will go all the way. I'm limited due to living in a senior's apartment complex.

Depends on area i have heard. Las Vegas they have all the ground so they really dont budge. For triple play I went from 135$ first year to 190$. They told me i could negotiate after 2 year contract which was $250 - i called retention they offered $217.

Just get a gmail and use your cell. Desktops/laptops a waste of time imo

Some said ISPs would raise rates once John McCain and the left killed net neutrality.

But the mainstream media says we're "better off" with net neutrality dead. ^

So who are you gonna believe is up to u.

yes they do. it gets frustrating cause we have to call and threaten to cancel and then they lower the increase to just a little. we have triple play with fios and a lot of movie channels cause my parents like to flick and see something recommended to them rather than searching on netflix all the time and choosing the same movies over and over.

Some many years ago, Cox tried to add Cell phones to their service....They didn't make it in that line, so became whores with the TV and internet "packages". I kept my Internet service with them today as that didn't go up, but they wanted a $38/ month increase for the same tv channells..So I dropped that and am now paying the same for internet, but have no sports channells, only the basics. They tried to tell me something about giving me a reduced fee, if I would get the contour! That's a joke! Next year, they will shove it to those folks where the sun don't shine. This year they only went with the TV price increase, which in the total was 29% increase!!!! LOL. It will be an adjustment, with no ESPN, but will watch the scoreboard. For Baseball I will purchase the MLB package soon. But for other sports, will be extremely limited. Music Channels--LOL!!! Contour--Speaking into a remote to find what you want!!

They CALLED! You must have Cox home phone service. I've never known them to call..For me they sent an email Saturday night. I hate the bastards. If I was married, could just cancel the Whole thing and put it in my wife's name as a first time. The rate would be VERY LOW. They want you hooked like a drug! I would switch to Verizon Fios, but they can't come into this building with FIOS tv.

Hopefully Elon Musk's starlink satellite internet service can introduce free market competition and reduce rates.

It could take time. They're planning to target remote areas with little or no ISP support 1st.

                Eventually benefits should trickle down.
