But unfortunately we are as many light years away advancing in this stuff as those planets are that we want & need to reach.

I'm no scientists or astronaut, but it doesn't take a genius to conclude that the odds of us figuring all of this out before a catastrophic event that could cause extinction arrives, are unlikely.

And what if we somehow, someway discover warp speed?

Then what?

Who knows how that works, but even then it's not as simple as that because high-speed travel doesn't make all of the obstacles in-between point A & B disappear, which equals crash & burn.

Let's face it, we are doomed lol

Any colony established on a place devoid of the hundreds of resources that earth has would require thousands of shipments of supplies very regularly. If Earth was compromised due to some catastrophic event like that, I'm not sure earth would be able to supply those very small % of super powerful, wealthy, and influential people that were chosen the privilege of taking advantage of the Socialist mars space station.

There's a newer movie out called Greenland that follows a similar narrative you speak of in regards to who's chosen

Rover is out and cruising. This rover will take Mars ground core samples and return them back to earth in the future which is REALLY amazing.

The only catastrophic even that's going to matter w respect to extinction of humans is the inevitable genocide that one part of the world is going to commute versus the other part of the world.

It won't be over food, religion, borders or money.

It'll be over pollution and privacy. The "greenies" will, at some point in the next 150 years, wipe out all of Arabia, Asia, India, Africa on the basis of earth preservation. That is how hardened these cultists are and uncompromising they'll get as the rest of the world body continues to overpopulated and over pollute and use those dirty fossil fuels.

As far as dodging an asteroid by flying to Mars lol...both options are a no go...if it ends it ends. Look at the fukking clowns paying $500k to be the 1st tourists in space.
