People no longer live on independent farms, as they did in the early 1900s.

Trade and travel are much more developed. Which is bad if the virus can survive for 3 days on surfaces as they say. Overnight and 2nd day air freight packages could be sources of infection.

These coupled together, make it much harder to self isolate and prevent the infection from being transmitted.

It would be nice if the wuhan virus disappeared and was never seen again. For whatever reason I always thought it was going to be worse than most expected.

In Muhan it's in check, in the US it's now slowing down and won't slow down for weeks but the good news is it's not growing anymore in China, the epicenter or ground zero if you will.
Like I said it's still bad news here in the US and will be for at least six more weeks.

As more mild cases of the virus are discovered, the US mortality rate has fallen from 3.5% to 2%. Once testing is ubiquitous, it will fall even further. I am guessing .1% to .5%.Viruses suck. The flu is awful. But this is only being treated worse because of politics.
