Lawmakers Pushing To End Time Changes
The clocks will spring ahead again next month and many lawmakers across the country are pushing for them to stay there.

Adjusting to daylight saving time has been blamed for spikes in heart attacks and car accidents as people get used to a new sleep schedule.

A survey from the Associated Press shows that 70 percent of Americans want to put an end to switching the clocks.

So far, a handful of states have passed bills to make daylight saving time permanent: Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Nevada, Oregon, Tennessee and Washington, USA Today reports. However, the states still need approval from the federal government to enact the change.

In the past, President Donald Trump has tweeted his support for making daylight saving time permanent. Congress would still have to approve a measure to make it a nationwide rule.

Agree. Always takes me a few days after each time change to adjust to it being either completely pitch black out when I wake up or pitch black out at 4:45PM. Fukk that

If it makes sense, this Congress will not pass it.

I read this thread title as "Lawmakers pushing 'end times' changes.

I thought congress was getting all apocalyptic on us.

        My bad, carry on.

Hope they do it. I'm on an assignment in Mexico and when USA changed the timing of turning the clocks under Bush, Mexico didn't alter their timing. So in Mexico City, 47 weeks a year it's same as central time and 5 weeks a year it is out of sync and is mountain time. It screws stuff up.

If you want the sun to come up at 4:30 A.M. and go down at 8:00 P.M. get rid of DLST.

I prefer that extra hour at the end of my day.

DLST makes sense. There is a reason it was initiated in the first place.

They can adjust their school schedule to accommodate and why does what the clocks say matter to farmers ? It’s stupid to make the majority conform with the minority. It’s also a technical challenge with almost every computer system built. Just doesn’t make sense to keep it anymore.

Do you sleep at 4:30 AM? In the summer would you rather the sun went down at 8pm or 9pm?

It's the majority that wants daylight savings time.
