with all that jet fuel. I'm sure they would almost always blow up in a matter of secs.

think of the logistics of getting a big bulky parachute for every passenger on a flight. Space is too precious. If you open up the doors of a pressurized plane, I think people would be sucked out and knocked unconcious.

you'd never get enough time to even get people ready, even if there was enough time it would be a mad scramble to the door and everyone would just get all clogged up 1000x worse then when you leave a plane

ps... it was shot down by an automated anti-missille defense system, mounted on a vehicle..... some guy set it an "auto" as opposed to manual, probably so he could get his jerk on..... system detected the jet, locked on it, and fired itself automatically.....
