Years ago I went on a business trip to Phoenix. The hotel I stayed in hosted some Hollywood fundraiser for sick children or something. A lot of children were at the hotel because at the same time there was a convention in town (in my industry) and a lot of parents decided to bring their families. The kids were waiting to meet these celebrities in the hallway but these big muscular guards would not let anybody anywhere near where the celebrities were coming in. These people drove up in their limos and mingled with millionaires and then left after the fundraiser. However, I was enjoying a drink at the hotel bar when I noticed Tony Hawk walking down the hallway. He was THE ONLY person that decided to stay after the fundraiser. He went down to the commons area and signed autographs and chatted with the kids for 3+ hours. After that day I lost almost all respect for Hollywood. These people talk like they care about everybody but in the end it's just a ploy to get more $$$. However, I will always remember Tony Hawk for truly being a good person.

Always heard Tony was a legit cool dude, especially with kids. Never too big to sign an autograph, or just hit up a local skate park and shred with the kids

Lmao at anybody thinking he "OWNED" Hollywood. They make him the host so he can do exactly this. They get the edgy comedian to come make fun of people for a few hours. He's done it 5 times, so obviously he loves it as well. Just because he makes mocks of some of them doesn't mean he isn't part of the club.

PS. Obviously, he did a great job this year, since he got people talking about the Golden Globes.
