Not much you can do. All these home remedies just soothes you. Just have to feel like crap for 4-5 days and let it do its thing...

Wash your hands, carry a small bottle of Purell around with you. Drink lots of water. Take some good vitamins. Get the flu shot and keep your surroundings, your home, your apt at a constant temperature......No flu or cold for several years..
